Job Purpose:

We are looking for a Country Manager for the Irish market who has strong senior sales director experience with cross-functional leadership skills.  The successful candidate needs to have a proven track record in developing new and existing senior level retail relationships.  A background in Irish retail sales is essential as is the ability to demonstrate a track record in managing a successful team and delivering key projects.

Key responsibilities include : 

  • Direct accountability for trade through our Irish retail partners
  • Deliver on-going new retail launches
  • Own and develop the retail trade plan in conjunction with the Smartbox Group UK CEO with business unit P&L responsibility
  • Deliver on commercial growth targets (sales, profit and margin) through on-going the development of commercial trade partnerships
  • Establish strong relationships with key retail accounts
  • Oversee instore product range launches along with delivery of new merchandising and POS units
  • Oversee instore stock replenishment on store by store basis (working with our external fulfilment partner)
  • Drive actions based on data led insights
  • Deliver trade performance reporting
  • Establish a B2B proposition and a B2B trade plan
  • Drive volume to our partners and work with internal stakeholders to deliver growth expectations
  • Work with internal stakeholders to deliver a “best in class” service level for our partners and customers
  • Setting up yearly budgets
  • Manage seasonal sell-in plans, produce seasonal strategic sales plans for each key account
  • Review the cost of service providers and manage a tender process to reduce costs where possible

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experienced at negotiating with business leaders / retailers at a senior level
  • Project management experience
  • Proven delivery of commercial targets and an understanding of P&L management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Outstanding communicator and team player
  • Senior management, team leadership skills and recruitment experience
  • In-depth experience of in-store retail, wholesale, business development, P&L and budget
  • Team player, customer focused with a positive can-do attitude
  • At ease working in a multicultural environment

Nice to have : 

  • Experience of managing stock delivery into and returns from retailers
  • Experience of setting up and managing outsourced/ in house instore merchandising team(s)
  • Understanding of gift card technology
